Skedaddle Humane Wildlife Control found it’s first babies of the 2016 spring season today! We found babies in a beer cooler in Oakville and more babies in a Hamilton attic.
On Saturday, March 12th, we discovered the first squirrel babies of the season- under the hood of a BMW! The car had been towed from a home to the dealership! (see video below). It was one of the more unique finds in Skedaddle’s 29 years of humane removals!
Raccoons, squirrels and skunks begin giving birth to litters of babies in March and continue to give birth well into summer. It is important to have preventive measures done to your home now before babies, as dealing with one raccoon or squirrel is much easier, less destructive and more affordable than dealing with a whole family!
Baby animals are not mobile for up to 10 weeks after birth; the only way to properly remove them from your attic is by hand.
The babies are often hidden in the attic in places hard to access, so it is important to have professionals who are trained in what to look for and how to handle the babies humanely in a way that will not hurt them handle the situation.
