As Skedaddle’s first owner-operator on the West Coast, Alex Ritz is eager to take the lead on Coquitlam’s wildlife control needs. His commitment to humane treatment options, along with his background as a biologist, make him uniquely suited for the task. For more on how Alex and Skedaddle are preparing to help the city of Coquitlam, read on.
Alex’s Background
Alex holds an undergraduate degree in wildlife biology and conservation, along with a master’s degree in forestry. This educational background helped launch him into the wildlife industry, a passion he’s had since early on.
It was “all the way back in grade one,” that Alex said he knew he wanted to work with wildlife. Upon achieving his degrees, he achieved this lifelong dream by working for Environment and Climate Change Canada, an organization working to inform Canadians about protecting our environment and creating a sustainable natural heritage. His duties as a conservation planner and wildlife biologist helped him connect his personal passion with his professional path.
Of course, this isn’t the only thing on Alex’s resume that speaks to his devotion to wildlife. He’s also an alumnus of the Ocean Bridge Canada Conservation Corps, a youth program designed to provide education about conservation.
Alex and Coquitlam
Alex is ready to help Coquitlam with its wildlife control issues. Due to British Columbia’s closeness to nature, especially through forests, park spaces, and water access, it’s, well, natural for wildlife and humans to end up co-mingling. Providing humane, effective control treatments offers benefits for everyone involved.
To drive this endeavour, Alex is focusing on using his knowledge to help keep animal family units together. This can cut down on stress, which makes it less likely for wildlife to act out dangerously.
By bringing his knowledge, skills, and passion to the world of wildlife control, Alex can help support homeowners and reduce their own stress. He plans to use reliable home inspections, friendly customer service, and humane and effective solutions to help residents reduce potentially dangerous or damaging interactions with local wildlife.
How Skedaddle Can Help
Whenever you’re dealing with unwanted wildlife, Skedaddle can help. Our professional team can handle the situation with both urgency and respect. We’ll analyze your home and the surrounding property to understand your concerns and develop a treatment plan. Once we’ve humanely removed the animal from your yard, attic, chimney, or walls, we’ll also clean the nearby area to prevent the spread of odours that may attract other wildlife.
As your wildlife control partner, we’ll work with you to discuss prevention techniques and methods that keep your property from becoming a wildlife habitat. We can pinpoint specific points of entry pests may use to penetrate your home’s perimeter. Through these protocols, we can better ensure your and your family’s protection against unwanted animals and pests.
You can request our services for a wide variety of animals, including:
- Bats
- Birds
- Mice
- Raccoons
- Skunks
- Squirrels
As Coquitlam sits so close to many habitats, residents may see any number of other creatures, like bears, cougars, coyotes, and deer. We’re prepared to help and or direct you in these situations to ensure everything is handled humanely and to your satisfaction.
