Walk in to any hardware store and you’ll see a number of products that are intended to rid your house of mice. These include sticky glue traps, spring-loaded snap traps, and poisons as far as the eye can see.

The problem with these types of “control” measures is that they don’t address the actual issue — which is the house itself. You may have success killing a few mice here and there but more will continue to find a way inside the home. Until the entry point(s) are screened or sealed, the problem will persist.

Mice can live inside a home for a long time before evidence of their presence is discovered. They are small enough to fit through holes the size of a dime, and can come and go through wall cavities, gaps around utility line, weep vents, and other spaces that have not been properly sealed by a professional.

If you suspect a mouse infestation in your home, you should consult a company that goes well beyond placing traps or poisons as a temporary remedy.
