In Ontario, bats have babies during summer; usually during June and July. It’s important for the mother to be close to her pups. Bats are mammals so babies are dependent on their mother’s milk.
Locking the mother out of the attic will orphan the babies. It’ll be difficult or impossible for the young to survive. Adult female bats supply food and protection. Also, they’re a source of education on how to be a bat.
