How Do I Identify an Infestation?
- Droppings: Mice droppings are not only detrimental to human and pet health, but they are also one of the first signs of an infestation. Droppings are typically found near nests, so use caution if you spot a hole near the feces. You should always wear protective equipment, including a mask and gloves, to discard any feces located.
- Tracks: Tracks can be found in a garage if you have any dust or mud in the space. If you notice droppings or holes next to the tracks, you can deduct that you have found the source of your mouse infestation.
- Sounds: Mice are active at night and it is common to hear mice running across cupboards, tile flooring or cement floors. The sounds you hear may vary from mouse squeaks to scurrying.
- Nests: To locate a nest, you first need to find the hole. Nests are often found in drawers, secluded corners, cabinets and unsecured doors. If a mouse nest is located, you should call a Durham wildlife removal specialist.
